
NATIONAL, July 25, 2025: A new CII–MediBuddy report, Workplace Health Reimagined: Corporate India’s Readiness for Digital Health Leadership, reveals over 70% of employees face lifestyle-related health risks, yet only 20% of employers provide routine screenings. The study highlights the urgent need for always-on, digital-first wellness ecosystems to boost productivity, retention, and business continuity.

Key findings:
✅ 63% of India’s deaths are from NCDs, affecting workers in their early 30s
✅ ₹1.12 lakh annual productivity loss per employee due to presenteeism & chronic illness
✅ Only 41% of Indian households have health insurance, while OPD insurance penetration is <0.1%
✅ Women’s preventive care remains critically low—just 1.9% undergo cervical cancer screening
✅ SMEs lag, with only 9% offering structured wellness programs
The report introduces the Corporate Wellness Quotient (CWQ), scoring India’s wellness readiness at 55/100, with fewer than 15% of companies achieving a ‘Mature’ level.
