The comprehensive screening program focuses on women aged 45+, promoting early diagnosis through risk-based assessments, diagnostics, and symptom awareness

Bengaluru, July 30, 2025: strengthening preventive oncology for women, Apollo Cancer Centres (ACCs) has launched End-O Check, a specialized early screening and diagnosis initiative targeting endometrial and ovarian cancers. The program is tailored for women aged 45 and above, especially those in the postmenopausal category, offering risk-based assessments, diagnostic tools, and symptom evaluation.
Ovarian cancer, often termed the “silent killer,” typically affects women between 55 and 64 years, with the average age at diagnosis being 63. However, when detected early, the five-year survival rate can exceed 90%.
With total cancer cases in India projected to reach 1.57 million by 2025, ovarian and uterine cancers remain among the top five cancers affecting women. The estimated age-standardized incidence rates currently stand at 4.6 per 100,000 for ovarian and 2.5 per 100,000 for corpus uterine cancers. Factors such as urbanization, evolving reproductive patterns, and increasing metabolic disorders have contributed to this rise—highlighting the urgent need for early detection in high-risk groups.
Endometrial cancer often presents with early warning signs such as irregular bleeding or abnormal discharge. However, many women delay reporting these symptoms, resulting in late-stage diagnoses and reduced treatment efficacy. End-O Check aims to reverse this trend by promoting early recognition, timely intervention, and proactive gynecologic health management.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Dinesh Madhavan, President, Group Oncology & International, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd., stated, “Early detection remains our most powerful ally in improving survival and quality of life in cancer care. End-O Check is a proactive step in shifting the narrative from treatment to screening and early diagnosis, enabling timely detection and precision treatment by expert cancer management teams.”
Dr. Rani Bhat, Senior Consultant – Gynae Oncology, Apollo Cancer Centre, Bengaluru, emphasized the urgency, noting, “Endometrial cancer has been rising among Indian women, and early detection is key to improved outcomes. Global data shows a 96% five-year survival rate for localized cases. However, survival drops sharply with delayed diagnosis. Risk factors such as obesity, diabetes, early menstruation, late menopause, and PCOS are becoming more common in India, increasing the relevance of this initiative.”
Dr. Aruna R Patil, Senior Consultant and Head of Radiology, Apollo Cancer Centre, Bengaluru, added, “Radiology plays a pivotal role in the early detection of gynecologic cancers. Through End-O Check, we are integrating transvaginal ultrasonography (TVS) to identify subtle signs of early-stage disease. Early imaging significantly improves diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes.”
With a focus on awareness, education, and timely diagnostics, End-O Check is a major step in Apollo’s ongoing mission to #WinningOverCancer.
