
CEO – Digital, JioStar to lead the committee shaping India’s digital entertainment landscape; Inshorts’ Deepit Purkayastha named Co-Chair
National, 31 July 2025: The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has announced the appointment of Kiran Mani, CEO – Digital, JioStar, as the new Chairman of its Digital Entertainment Committee, a key body guiding the strategic direction of India’s digital content and OTT ecosystem. Mani’s appointment underscores the committee’s mission to foster innovation, inclusivity, and global competitiveness in India’s fast-evolving digital entertainment sector.
Kiran Mani brings over two decades of deep expertise across technology, content, and consumer engagement. In his current role at JioStar, he spearheads the growth of JioHotstar, one of India’s largest digital streaming platforms, redefining how digital stories are told and experienced at scale. He also serves as a Governing Council member at IAMAI, and formerly co-chaired its Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) Committee

Joining him as Co-Chair of the Digital Entertainment Committee is Deepit Purkayastha, Co-founder & CEO of Inshorts, bringing complementary strengths in product innovation, platform development, and editorial strategy.
The IAMAI Digital Entertainment Committee is a critical industry forum that promotes collaborative policymaking, technology adoption, and sustainable growth for OTT platforms, content creators, and digital-first media companies. With this new leadership, the committee is expected to intensify its focus on content regulation, audience development, monetisation strategies, and creator empowerment — all essential pillars for the next phase of India’s digital media expansion.
