Victory crowns a four-month journey involving 95 South Asian teams, with over 7 lakh reach and 1.3 lakh YouTube views across 29 broadcast days.

Mumbai, India – 14 August 2025: Riot Games, in partnership with Aftermath Ventures, has wrapped up the inaugural Legends Ascend South Asia tournament, with S8UL Esports emerging as champions after four months of high-stakes competition. Their win earns them a place at the prestigious League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) Wild Card Playoffs, scheduled from 28–31 August 2025, where they will battle top teams from across the region for a chance to qualify for LCP 2026.

Launched in April 2025 to foster South Asia’s League of Legends talent, Legends Ascend brought together 95 teams from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives, and Bhutan, competing for a total prize pool of INR 10,00,000. The tournament spanned three open qualifiers, a round robin league stage, and a double-elimination playoff format.
From the qualifiers, nine standout teams advanced to the league stage in June and July: S8UL Esports, Kakao Gaming, PnX ASCENSION, Revenants, SUVO HATERS, Jetfire’s Dojo, Syndicate, Poro Patrol, and Report Precog Gaming. The top four—S8UL Esports, Kakao Gaming, Revenants, and Syndicate—progressed to the playoffs. In August, S8UL’s disciplined gameplay, innovative drafting, and consistency saw them secure the championship title, with Kakao Gaming finishing second and Revenants in third place.
The tournament’s impact extended well beyond the competitive arena. Across 29 broadcast days, Legends Ascend South Asia recorded over 1.3 lakh YouTube views and reached more than 7 lakh viewers through the FragNation channel. An additional 12 community watch parties across the region added 1.25 lakh views, underscoring the growing grassroots passion for League of Legends.
“Legends Ascend was about discovery, growth, and empowering South Asia’s esports ecosystem,” said Arun Rajappa, Country Manager, India & South Asia, Riot Games. “S8UL’s triumph is a testament to the talent here, and we’re excited to see them compete on the LCP Wild Card stage.”
Mansoor ‘Nabu’ Ahmed, Founder & CEO of Aftermath Ventures, added: “From the first qualifier to the final, this tournament showcased the best of South Asia’s League of Legends community. S8UL’s win sets a new benchmark for aspiring players.”
As S8UL prepares for the LCP Wild Card Playoffs, the success of Legends Ascend South Asia reaffirms Riot Games’ commitment to creating sustainable competitive pathways for amateur players in the region.
