Indian athletes shine with gold and silver wins under her leadership

Albena, Bulgaria, September 18, 2025: Preeti Jhangiani, President of the People’s Armwrestling Federation India (PAFI) and Vice-President of the Asian Armwrestling Federation, is spearheading India’s campaign at the 46th World Armwrestling Championship and the 27th Para-Armwrestling Championship, being held in Albena, Bulgaria, from September 10–22, 2025.

The championship has brought together participants from over 60 countries, with more than 1,500 athletes, officials, and supporters in attendance. Under Jhangiani’s stewardship, India is competing with renewed confidence and determination, marking its presence at one of the sport’s most prestigious global events.

Expressing her pride, Jhangiani said, “It is truly an honor to hold this responsibility and stand alongside our contestants on such a prestigious platform. Their dedication and spirit inspire me deeply. They are the true pride of our nation, and it is because of their hard work that we are representing India at the 46th World and 27th Para Armwrestling Championships in Bulgaria. India’s contingent has already delivered standout performances. Rajbir Nanda clinched a gold medal with a commanding display, while Sreeshanth secured silver — a proud moment that underlines the rising stature of Indian armwrestling globally. With a mix of seasoned champions, emerging talents, and resilient para-athletes, the delegation embodies the grit, discipline, and spirit of Indian sportsmanship.
