The global hip-hop series returns with raw lyricism and powerful storytelling at its core
Mumbai, September 18, 2025: Def Jam Recordings India, in collaboration with Universal Music Group for Brands (UMGB) and Red Bull, has launched the highly anticipated third season of Red Bull 64 Bars, opening with “Zi Freestyle”—a bold collaboration between rapper Karma and producer Stunnah Beatz.
Red Bull 64 Bars is a global hip-hop platform where artists—both rising and established—deliver exactly 64 bars of pure lyricism, stripped of hooks and refrains. The challenge focuses on storytelling, rhythm, and flow, spotlighting authenticity over commercial appeal.
Last season’s standout “Vazan” by Sambata set the stage with grit and energy. Now, Season 3 raises the bar as Karma’s “Zi Freestyle” transitions from a jazz-infused intro to a hard-hitting beat, pairing vulnerability with lyrical bravado against Stunnah Beatz’s immersive production.
Karma shared:
> “Working on Zi Freestyle for Red Bull 64 Bars with Stunnah was an incredible experience. The format truly pushes you to focus on the essence of your craft—pure bars and storytelling. Stunnah’s production provided the perfect canvas for me to lay down my truth without distractions.”
Preeti Nayyar, SVP & Business Head – New Business & Brand Partnerships, UMG India & South Asia, said:
> “Red Bull 64 Bars has emerged as one of the most exciting platforms for hip-hop in India. With Def Jam Recordings India as the perfect home, Season 3 takes this movement forward while showcasing the richness of India’s music culture.”
Sumedhas Rajgopal, Head of the Independent Artist Collective, UMG, added:
> “The format gives artists the freedom to express themselves in the most authentic way. With Season 3, we’re bringing fresh collaborations between rappers and producers, and we’re excited to see how fans engage with the music.”
“Zi Freestyle” by Karma and Stunnah Beatz is now streaming across all major platforms.
