Mumbai: The Times Now Summit 2025 unfolded with a powerful closing address by Vineet, MD, The Times Group highlighting key takeaways and the road ahead for India’s growth. He said, “Our economy is surging, our global influence is growing, and our cultural and spiritual heritage continues to inspire millions. But keeping Bharat ahead is not about celebrating what we have already achieved—it is about preparing for the future. It is about building Bharat through self-reliance, the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat as coined by our Honourable Prime Minister. This Atmanirbharta will come from strengthening five key pillars on which Viksit Bharat must be built: Innovation, Infrastructure, Inclusivity, Indigenous Strength and Integrity. We must continue to lead with wisdom, compassion and a commitment to a better world of global peace, climate action, and ethical governance.”
The most-awaited session featuring Amit Shah, Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation took center stage, offering deep insights into the nation’s strategic vision and global positioning, making it a fitting conclusion to the thought-provoking summit. Shah said, “Delimitation is a constitutional process, and I assure you, it will not cause even 0.001% trouble to anyone. As for the caste census, Rahul Gandhi seems to blindly believe whatever is told to him without thorough understanding. If someone believes they do not have freedom of speech, let them hold a press conference tomorrow. The truth is, Rahul Gandhi was given a set time to speak in Parliament, yet he was in Vietnam. It is not just about the role one holds, but about how much one respects that role. I want to ask the people of this country—should we grant opportunities based on quality and merit, or should it be dictated by religion? Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s citizenship issue, let me be clear—I will not malign him just because he is in the opposition. The matter will follow due process, and if needed, we will take it to court.”
Speaking on the imposition of President’s rule in Manipur, he said, “People may have their opinions on imposing President’s Rule, but the reality is that the situation has to be conducive for such a step. The conflict between the two communities is not new—it has occurred in cycles for 4-5 years at a time. But today, things are significantly better, and they will only continue to improve.”
He further said, “India has faced three major problems that have prevented its growth, wasting vast amounts of the country’s revenue: the Left-wing extremist areas, the Naxal-affected regions, the Northeast, and Kashmir were deeply troubled. Anyone familiar with India’s geography knows that these three problems were festering wounds hindering India’s development. Instead of channeling energy in a positive direction, so much of it was being wasted negatively. Bringing peace to these regions was naturally a top priority for the Home Department.”
“In Kashmir, after the abrogation of Article 370, we witnessed the first election in 40 years without repolling, without bullets, without tear gas. This is a real change. Meanwhile, infiltrators are being encouraged by Mamata Banerjee for vote-bank politics—it’s not about us, but about her personal interests.”
Regarding the Waqf amendment bill he mentioned, “In Delhi, over 100 prime properties were declared Waqf, including Chandrashekhar Azad Gardens in Prayagraj, and these decisions cannot be challenged. This is not about minorities being afraid; lies are being spread. This is not a retrospective bill—how can we take away mosques that already exist? If there are concerns, they should be raised in Parliament. In Bihar, BJP will return to power. In Tamil Nadu, AIADMK is still under discussion, but DMK has ruined the state’s education system and progress under Stalin. The NDA government will be established in Tamil Nadu, ensuring technical and medical education is available in Tamil as the first language.”
Adding perspective on RSS, he said, “The RSS is an organization rooted in discipline, structured thought, and a deep love for the country. It has always worked for the betterment of society—whether through education, nation-building, or overall development.”
Throwing light on the PM Cares Fund, EVM he said, “We work for the country from 6 AM to midnight, and the EVM will reflect the people’s choice. The PM CARES fund is audited, whereas the Congress-era PM Relief Fund was never audited. The neutrality of institutions like the Chief Justice of India and the Election Commission is crucial. Since its inception, BJP has believed in the Uniform Civil Code—there should be one law for all, not laws based on religion. We will also work on a cooperative-based transport system for the public.”
