88th online e-auction scheduled for June 6, 2025; application deadline set for June 4, 2025
Mumbai: Public service broadcaster Prasar Bharati has announced the 88th online e-auction for the allocation of MPEG-4 slots on its free-to-air DTH platform, DD Free Dish.
The auction is tentatively scheduled for June 6, 2025. Interested parties must submit their applications, along with the processing fee and necessary documentation, by June 4, 2025.
As per the official notification, selected channels will be categorised into specific buckets based on language and genre. Slot allocation will be made on a pro-rata basis, effective from June 13, 2025, to March 31, 2026.
The e-auction is open to all private satellite TV channels licensed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), provided they have valid downlinking permission within India. Foreign broadcasters licensed outside India may also participate, subject to obtaining MIB approval and compliance with Indian regulations.
