Percol, UK’s pioneering ethical coffee brand, acquired by CCL, is now being introduced to the Indian market in three premium instant coffee variants — Da Essenza, Intenzo, and Espresso Noir
Hyderabad, India – June 16, 2025 – CCL Products (India) Ltd., one of India’s leading coffee manufacturers, today announced the launch of Percol, the iconic UK-based premium coffee brand, marking its debut in India following CCL’s acquisition in 2023.
Prior to acquisition, Percol’s instant coffee blends for the UK market were developed by CCL Products (India) Ltd. When the brand was offered for sale in the UK, CCL seized the strategic opportunity to acquire a brand they had been deeply associated with, understood well, and recognised for its core value proposition. Driven by a vision of taking the brand global, CCL acquired Percol and has now introduced it in India to elevate the at-home coffee experience for the country’s growing tribe of coffee connoisseurs — blending premium taste with sustainability and heritage.
Founded in 1987 by Brian Chapman, Percol was the first coffee brand in the UK to earn Fairtrade certification. Built on three core values — exceptional quality, ethical sourcing, and sustainable practices — Percol has remained a favourite among conscious consumers for over three decades. Its entry into India comes at a time when urban professionals and coffee enthusiasts increasingly value provenance, quality, and thoughtful packaging.
The launch introduces three carefully curated freeze-dried instant coffee variants — Intenzo, Da Essenza, and Espresso Noir — crafted with beans sourced from Colombia, Vietnam, and other renowned coffee-growing regions. Housed in elegant 100g jars, each blend offers a rich, distinctive flavour designed for those who appreciate the complexity and nuances of great coffee.
Praveen Jaipuriar, CEO, CCL Products (India) Ltd., said:
“The Indian coffee landscape is evolving rapidly, with consumers increasingly seeking sophisticated flavours and meaningful brand experiences. Percol represents not just premium coffee, but a philosophy that resonates with today’s nuanced consumer, who is particular about the sophistication, depth, and value of the products they consume.”
In line with its sustainability-first ethos, Percol’s coffees come in premium, plastic-free packaging. Each product is packed in a reusable glass jar with a metal cap, encased in an elegant outer box featuring a vignette logo, embossing, and spot-UV effects on a matte background — underscoring Percol’s commitment to the environment.
Percol’s premium instant coffees are now available on major e-commerce platforms and in select supermarkets across India, with an initial focus on Tier-1 cities in North and West India. This launch reinforces CCL’s ongoing commitment to premiumising India’s coffee experience and bringing global coffee heritage to local shelves.
