The actress shares how meditation and calming music help her stay grounded during emotionally intense scenes in the historical epic

Sony Entertainment Television’s grand historical drama Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan continues to captivate audiences with its powerful storytelling and stellar performances, chronicling the rise of a child destined to be a legendary king. Among the standout performances is Anuja Sathe’s portrayal of Karpura Devi, which has won hearts for its emotional depth and authenticity.
Behind the scenes, Anuja follows a mindful and disciplined routine to deliver her emotionally intense performance. She begins her day on set with quiet meditation, helping her center herself before immersing into character. Between takes, she listens to soft instrumental tracks or calming speakers like Sri M — practices that allow her to release tension and maintain her focus despite the demands of long shooting hours.
Sharing insights into her process, Anuja explains,
> “Playing a character from a different era, with so much emotional depth, demands complete immersion. I’ve developed a ritual that helps me stay centered amid the chaos of a shoot day. Meditation and calm music are my anchors. Before intense scenes, I find a quiet corner, close my eyes, and just breathe. Listening to soft instrumental tracks or speakers like Sri M helps me release any tension I might be holding onto. We all have our coping mechanisms; for me, it’s the simple, silent things that make the biggest difference.”
With her thoughtful approach to acting, Anuja brings authenticity and gravitas to Karpura Devi, enriching the show’s narrative of legacy, leadership, and valour.
