The bestselling author launches the second book in his Indic Chronicles series, joined by celebrated actors at a star-studded event in Mumbai
Mumbai, September 1, 2025: It was an evening where history, literature, and glamour converged as Amish Tripathi launched his latest book, The Chola Tigers: Avengers of Somnath, at Crossword Bookstores, Kemps Corner. The event, hosted in association with HarperCollins India, drew a packed audience of readers and literary enthusiasts.

The launch saw popular actors Ravi Dubey, Sargun Mehta, Jimmy Shergill, and Anup Soni share the stage with the author as they unveiled the much-awaited title. The Chola Tigers marks the second installment of Tripathi’s epic Indic Chronicles series, which reimagines the last 1,300 years of Indian history.

Widely regarded as India’s most successful mytho-fiction writer, Tripathi has previously penned chart-topping titles including The Shiva Trilogy, the Ram Chandra Series, and Legend of Suheldev. His works have sold over 8 million copies, inspiring readers to rediscover India’s cultural and historical legacy.

Reflecting on the launch, Amish said, “I feel truly blessed by the love I’ve received. What began as a simple philosophical thesis has grown into the Indian Chronicles—my interpretation of the last 1,300 years of our story. It is time we re-examine the way we view our history.”
Nidhi Gupta, Director at Crossword Bookstores, added, “At Crossword, it’s been really special to be a part of Amish’s journey right from the start. From The Immortals of Meluha to now, we’ve seen the love for his stories grow with every launch. With The Chola Tigers: Avengers of Somnath, we’re excited to bring readers a bold new chapter in his storytelling legacy.”
The evening concluded with an interactive session and book signing, where fans had the opportunity to meet Amish and get their copies signed, making the launch a memorable celebration of stories, culture, and history.
