With 12 institutes across India, Apollo’s genomics program empowers families with preventive insights, early diagnoses, and personalised care
Bengaluru, 23 September 2025: Apollo Hospitals Group has announced a significant milestone in its genomics journey, completing over 11,000 genomic consultations through its Apollo Genomics Institutes nationwide. The achievement underscores Apollo’s mission to integrate genomics into mainstream healthcare, offering preventive insights, precise diagnostics, and personalised treatment pathways for families across India.
India’s genetic diversity, with more than 4,000 ethnic groups and high prevalence of endogamy, presents unique challenges in disease mapping. By scaling access to genetic counseling and diagnostics, Apollo is bridging crucial gaps in personalised and preventive medicine.
With institutes across 12 cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata, Apollo Genomics Institutes are staffed by 30+ clinical geneticists and counsellors. Their services span reproductive genomics, oncology, rare genetic disorders, and preventive health, with the overarching goal of democratising genomic insights for families nationwide.
Dr. Preetha Reddy, Vice Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals, said: “Reaching over 11,000 genomic consultations highlights the transformative impact of genomics in clinical practice. Our mission is to make genomic testing both accessible and integral to healthcare, ensuring better outcomes for all.”
Actor Soha Ali Khan, who joined Apollo to mark the milestone, added: “Genomics is about families, stories, and the choices we inherit. It gives us the ability to detect risks early and personalise care. The responsibility now is to ensure these advances benefit every community, not just a few.”
Dr. Anupam Sibal, Group Medical Director, Apollo Hospitals, noted: “Genetics plays a vital role in preventing and managing disease. Our milestone reflects the dedication of our geneticists and clinicians in advancing patient care through accurate diagnoses, personalised therapies, and continuous innovation.”
Highlighting future opportunities, Mr. Arunesh Punetha, CEO – Western Region, Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd., emphasised that as awareness of non-communicable diseases like cancer and cardiovascular conditions grows, genomic testing will play an increasingly critical role in prevention and treatment.
The Apollo Genomics Institutes continue to invest in cutting-edge research, patient-centric innovation, and real-world data, ensuring that genomic care moves from being a niche service to a mainstream healthcare practice.
