ASICS, the global Japanese sportswear brand, unveiled its latest GEL-DS TRAINER 14 shoes through a vibrant and immersive launch event at Late Checkout, Mumbai. The brand’s high energy saw creators and sneaker enthusiasts arriving in style aboard an ASICS Sportstyle-branded double-decker bus, setting the tone for a launch rooted in 2000s inspired fashion, street culture, comfort and versatility for everyday scenarios.

With an aim to tie sneaker culture and high fashion together, ASICS hosted this exclusive event making a stride towards its increasingly popular ASICS’ SportStyle category. The event brought together elements of nostalgia, performance, and fashion-forward design, reflecting ASICS’ commitment to blending lifestyle with innovation. The launch was further elevated by interactive experiences, including a memory wall, where guests shared their love for the brand.

With the launch Rajat Khurana, Managing Director, ASICS India and South ASIA, said, “We have foreseen a huge emerging space for sneakers in the market. We wanted to bring a dedicated category that goes beyond performance. Inspired by the original 2009 silhouette, this launch of GEL-DS TRAINER 14 marks a pivotal moment in ASICS’ journey as we deepen our commitment to the SportStyle segment. With this collection, we’re not just introducing a sneaker but a lifestyle that seamlessly blends high-performance heritage with contemporary street style.”

The GEL-DS TRAINER 14 combines throwback design elements with lightweight comfort, making it ideal for everyday styling. It has distinguishing features on the upper that include the shoe’s iconic quarter-panel design and open mesh panelling. Designed for both men and women, this unisex sneaker is priced at INR 9,999 and is available in Truffle Grey/Pure Silver and White/Tai Chi Yellow colours. The new collection is now available at ASICS retail stores and on ASICS’ official online platforms, catering to a growing base of Indian consumers seeking sneakers that embody both function and fashion.
