Featuring Anusha Dandekar and leading influencers, the digital-first initiative empowers pet parents with science-backed knowledge to ensure healthier, happier pets
Mumbai, July 4, 2025: Bark Out Loud by Vivaldis, India’s fastest-growing purpose-driven pet wellness brand, has launched #DontBuyTheMyth, a nationwide campaign to dismantle widespread myths and misinformation around pet health and wellbeing. With a focus on conscious, science-led pet parenting, the initiative features celebrity pet parent Anusha Dandekar alongside top influencers to spotlight the urgent need for informed care.
In today’s social media age, unverified advice often overshadows professional expertise, leading pet parents—despite their best intentions—to adopt harmful practices. From feeding dogs chocolate to offering milk to cats, these myths are far from harmless; they can silently compromise pets’ health and wellbeing. The campaign aims to confront and correct these misconceptions head-on.
“In India, awareness about pet wellness is still evolving, and this gap becomes even more critical during vulnerable times like the monsoon, when pets are more susceptible to infections, stress, and dietary imbalances,” said Devika Khanna, Business Head at Bark Out Loud. “With #DontBuyTheMyth, we’re determined to replace assumptions with education, creating a trusted ecosystem of knowledge that empowers pet parents to make the best choices for their furry companions.”
The digital-first rollout of #DontBuyTheMyth includes Pawflix, an engaging myth-busting video series featuring influencers, certified trainers, and pet nutritionists who break down popular misconceptions with credible insights. To foster two-way conversations, the campaign utilizes Instagram’s Ask Me Anything (AMA) feature, providing real-time expert answers to pet parents’ queries.
Additionally, the Myth vs. Fact contest invites pet owners to bust common myths themselves, with winners earning free veterinary consultations — a step towards promoting proactive, informed pet care. Key myths the campaign targets include misconceptions like “chocolate is safe for dogs,” “milk is good for cats,” and “cats can thrive on a vegan diet.” Bark Out Loud aims to dispel thousands of such myths by the campaign’s end, driving a nationwide shift toward responsible, evidence-based pet parenting.
