Enhanced infrastructure and holistic education initiative aim to equip students with life skills, empathy, and resilience
Mumbai, August 29, 2025: The Malvani Township School in Malad, a BMC English Medium School run by Prayas Foundation, marked a major milestone with the inauguration of its new building and the official launch of Rangeet’s SEEK curriculum. The initiative combines upgraded infrastructure with a broader, skills-based approach to education, supporting the BMC’s mission to transform learning experiences for children across the city.

The SEEK curriculum, developed by social enterprise Rangeet, focuses on equipping students with essential 21st-century life skills, including empathy, resilience, and ecological awareness. This initiative will impact 28,000 students in Mumbai during 2025, in partnership with the OmniActive Improving Lives Foundation (ILF) and the Pratham Mumbai Education Initiative, supported by Nirlon Ltd.
The inauguration ceremony drew over 400 attendees, including parents, teachers, students, and community members. Hon’ble Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of Maharashtra, Mr. Mangal Prabhat Lodha, attended as Chief Guest. In his address, he announced a ₹1 crore fund to establish a science lab, robotics lab, and other facilities, while encouraging programs that extend beyond the traditional curriculum.
Mr. Mukhtar Shah, Deputy Education Officer, BMC, highlighted the school’s journey and the opportunities now available through enhanced facilities and initiatives like Rangeet’s SEEK program. Rangeet also conducted interactive activities at the event, showcasing their engaging approach to holistic education.
Speaking on the partnership, Simran Mulchandani, CEO & Co-Founder, and Karishma Menon, Co-Founder and Director of Curriculum, Rangeet, said:
> “We are honoured to partner with Prayas Foundation to bring SEEK to this school and community. Our curriculum helps children build essential life skills—empathy, resilience, ecological awareness—that will prepare them for the future. We are grateful to the BMC for the opportunity to work in this modern, state-of-the-art school.”
A student of Class 9 reflected on the impact of the program:
> “It’s important for older kids like us to be role models and inspire younger children to do things that benefit our planet.”
The inauguration concluded on an optimistic note, with teachers, parents, and children embracing the school’s new chapter. By combining upgraded classrooms, modern facilities, and transformative educational programs, the Malvani Township School is helping reimagine public education in Mumbai as a joyful, empowering, and future-ready experience.
