New course preview model with AI-powered features debuts at ₹1,699/month; India emerges as Coursera’s second-largest market with 31 million learners
New Delhi, September 9, 2025: Coursera, Inc. (NYSE: COUR), a leading global online learning platform, has introduced localized pricing and a new course preview experience in India, making world-class education up to 60% more affordable. The initiative reflects Coursera’s commitment to helping learners worldwide acquire the skills needed to advance their careers.
Replacing the traditional audit option, the new course preview model provides learners access to the first module of nearly every course at no cost. This includes graded assignments, video lessons, and AI-powered features such as Coursera Coach (where available), giving learners a richer, more interactive way to explore content before enrolling fully.
As part of the new pricing model in India:
Professional Certificates & Specializations: Starting at ₹1,699/month (up to 60% less expensive)
Coursera Plus (Monthly): ₹2,099 (60% less expensive)
Coursera Plus (Annual): ₹13,999 (60% less expensive)
Individual Courses: Available from ₹2,699
Coursera Plus offers unlimited access to more than 10,000 courses and Professional Certificates from over 350 global university and industry partners. Learners can also benefit from Community Impact Courses on critical issues such as mental health, refugee support, and public health, while financial aid remains available for eligible applicants.
“As one of our fastest growing and most engaged learner markets, India is at the heart of our mission,” said Greg Hart, CEO of Coursera. “The new course preview experience makes learning more engaging from day one, while localized pricing ensures education is more accessible nationwide.”
The rollout is part of Coursera’s global launch across 100+ countries. Early trials show that enabling access to assignments and AI features during the preview phase leads to stronger learner engagement and higher course completion rates.
With 31 million registered learners, India is Coursera’s second-largest market globally and the world leader in GenAI course enrollments, surpassing 3 million to date.
