
Gupta brings over two decades of regional leadership experience to spearhead Coursera’s growth across Asia Pacific amid surging demand for digital and AI-focused skills.

New Delhi, July 7, 2025:Coursera, Inc. (NYSE: COUR), a global leader in online learning, has announced the appointment of Ashutosh Gupta as Managing Director for India and Asia Pacific. In this role, Gupta will lead Coursera’s enterprise business across the region, collaborating with companies, educational institutions, and governments to equip students, employees, and citizens with skills essential for the digital economy.

Gupta brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across India and Southeast Asia, specializing in business growth, digital innovation, and scaling operations. Most recently, he was an Operating Partner at Avataar Ventures, where he advised SaaS companies on go-to-market strategies and revenue acceleration across India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Previously, as Country Manager for LinkedIn India, he led LinkedIn Marketing Solutions’ mid-market and SMB business across APAC, spearheading localization efforts and driving strong regional revenue growth. His career also includes senior roles at Google, Cognizant, and Infosys, where he led global transformation programs and managed strategic client relationships.

Gupta holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow and a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT BHU) Varanasi.
His appointment comes as Coursera deepens its presence in Asia Pacific, where demand for industry-aligned micro-credentials, AI-powered tools, and credit pathways is accelerating.
