State-of-the-art facility at RVCE to pioneer hydrogen technologies, advanced material reliability, and clean energy innovation, placing India at the forefront of the global hydrogen economy.
BENGALURU, KARNATAKA, INDIA – July 3, 2025: In a landmark move for India’s clean energy ecosystem, Dover India, part of Dover Corporation, has partnered with RV College of Engineering (RVCE), Bengaluru, to establish a cutting-edge laboratory focused on Materials and Component Reliability Testing for hydrogen technologies. Housed within the Centre for Hydrogen and Green Technology, a Centre of Excellence at RVCE, the new lab is set to become India’s premier hub for advanced hydrogen research and material testing under extreme environments.
Equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure developed by researchers from Dover India Innovation Center (DIIC) and RVCE, the laboratory’s capabilities are among the first-of-their-kind in India and rare globally. Over 20 technologists from both organizations will collaborate on breakthrough research spanning hydrogen generation, storage, transportation, safety, and end-use applications. The lab will also provide RVCE students with hands-on experience in advanced testing, preparing them for careers in the clean energy and emerging technology sectors.
Expanding India’s Hydrogen Research Capabilities
Dover India’s R&D center, launched in 2021 in Bengaluru, has quickly become a leader in prognostics, tribology, corrosion and coatings, polymer synthesis, and material characterization. The new facility significantly extends DIIC’s capabilities, leveraging a platform-based approach to accelerate technology development for hydrogen and beyond, including sustainable materials, IoT, and Industry 4.0.
“Collaborating with RVCE enables us to foster a strong academia-industry partnership that will fuel the next wave of clean energy innovation and cover the entire spectrum of basic and applied research in this area,” said Vivek Srivastava, R&D Head at Dover India, who is leading the initiative.
Leadership Signals Strong Commitment
The partnership was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by senior leaders from both organizations. Representing Dover India were Tushar Banerjee, Vice President & Managing Director, and Prashanth Santhanam, Senior Director – Finance. The RVCE delegation included Dr. M. P. Shyam, President – Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST); Dr. K. N. Subramanya, Principal – RVCE; Dr. Geetha K.S., Vice Principal and STEM education expert; and Dr. Ujwal Shreenag Meda, Coordinator, Centre for Hydrogen and Green Technology.
Their joint vision underscores a shared commitment to nurture innovation, develop scalable solutions, and strengthen India’s leadership position in the global hydrogen economy.
