Chennai, October 9, 2025: In a landmark achievement for Indian healthcare, Dr. Parimuthukumar, Clinical Lead at the Institute of Robotic Surgeries, Prashanth Hospitals, has successfully completed 100 indigenous robotic abdominal surgeries, becoming the first surgeon in Chennai to reach this milestone.
Recognised for performing India’s first inter-hospital robotic telesurgery across a distance of 340 km, Dr. Parimuthukumar continues to pioneer advancements in minimally invasive surgical care using Made-in-India robotic technology.
The milestone was celebrated at Prashanth Hospitals, where Dr. Vishwa Srivastava, CEO – APAC, SSi Mantra, felicitated Dr. Parimuthukumar for his contribution to robotic surgery and his role in bridging urban-rural healthcare gaps.
Dr. Parimuthukumar’s surgeries span gall bladder removals, hernia repairs, uterus removals, colonic cancer procedures, and spleen surgeries — all performed using robotic-assisted techniques that enable smaller incisions, faster recovery, and greater precision.
