Royal Enfield–endorsed city+ mobility brand earns global recognition for blending tradition with innovation

September 3, 2025 – Flying Flea, the city+ mobility brand backed by Royal Enfield, has been awarded the prestigious Red Dot Design Award 2025 in the Design Concept category for its classic-inspired Flying Flea C6. The recognition reinforces the brand’s design-first ethos and its mission to quietly disrupt category conventions.
The FF.C6, the first in the Flying Flea lineup, draws inspiration from the original Royal Enfield Flying Flea motorcycle of the 1940s—an agile, lightweight machine deployed during World War II for all-terrain mobility. Reviving this legacy, the C6 brings together lightness, adaptability, and cutting-edge design, serving as a bridge between heritage and the future of electric mobility.
Sivakumar S, Head – Industrial Design, Flying Flea and Royal Enfield Electric Vehicles, said:
> “Flying Flea was born from the conviction that design is the essence of how we think, create, and connect. The FF.C6 carries forward an incredible story through its design language—where tradition meets the future, and technology serves both function and emotion. Winning the Red Dot Award validates our vision and inspires us to keep redefining city+ mobility.”
The FF.C6 stands out for its minimalist yet futuristic design, featuring a floating saddle and headlamp, teardrop tank, true-round display, and an artistic high-tensile exoskeleton frame. The forged aluminium frame flows seamlessly into the rear swing arm, balancing strength and fluidity. Its magnesium-cased battery incorporates functional fins—dynamic front fins symbolizing forward-thinking technology and elegant rear fins reflecting legacy—converging into a wing-shaped motif that embodies the Flying Flea spirit.
The girder fork, a modern interpretation of historic suspension design, showcases exposed engineering, clean lines, and integrated lighting. It delivers tactile feedback while ensuring a direct, connected riding experience. Every element of the FF.C6—from frame strokes to battery fins—was crafted to preserve visual purity and spark an emotional bond with riders who embody the brand’s philosophy of “Live Lightly.”
Earlier this year, Flying Flea also launched a cultural campaign celebrating creativity and design. At Salone del Mobile 2025, the brand presented Motototem, an art installation by LA-based artist Mattia Biagi, merging mobility and sculpture. In parallel, collaborations with Paris’ École Duperré enabled students to reinterpret the brand through installations, fashion, and storytelling. The next phase of this partnership will be unveiled at Paris Design Week 2025, further strengthening Flying Flea’s position at the intersection of design, culture, and mobility.
