Registrations open for September 21 race; global participation expected under #RunForZeroHunger initiative

Udaipur, September 8, 2025: Hindustan Zinc Limited (BSE: 500188, NSE: HINDZINC), the world’s largest integrated zinc producer, has announced the 2nd edition of the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, 21st September 2025 in Udaipur. The official poster and race-day jersey—designed in vibrant blue, orange, and pink to symbolize inclusivity and unity—were unveiled at a ceremony attended by Chief Conservator of Forest Department Shri Sunil Chedri, Hindustan Zinc CEO & Whole-time Director Mr. Arun Misra, and Dr. Manoj Soni from ABCR (Anybody Can Run).
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural edition, which saw over 5,000 participants, this year’s marathon is set to be bigger, with runners from 27 Indian states and international entries. The event will feature multiple categories: Half Marathon (21 km), Cool Run (10 km), Dream Run (5 km), and a special “Race with Champions” for differently-abled participants. The marathon is AIMS-certified and a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races.
The Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon supports the #RunForZeroHunger initiative by Nand Ghar, an Anil Agarwal Foundation program combating malnutrition in India. Mr. Arun Misra said, “The marathon is more than just a race—it is a movement that celebrates inclusivity, endurance, and the spirit of Udaipur while supporting a noble cause. We are proud to align fitness with our mission of creating healthier communities.”
Beyond fitness, the marathon is expected to boost tourism and local business in Udaipur, offering participants a scenic route through Fateh Sagar Lake, the Aravalli Hills, and the city’s historic landmarks. Known as “India’s most beautiful marathon,” the event highlights Udaipur’s dual identity as both the Zinc City and a global cultural hub.
Hindustan Zinc has long championed sports-led community development through initiatives such as the Zinc Football Academy, grassroots cricket and kabaddi programs, and other community engagement projects. The marathon is another step in reinforcing its commitment to fitness, empowerment, and social impact.
