Esri India commits ₹150 crore to new GIS and AI Competency Centre to accelerate geospatial innovation
New Delhi, September 4, 2025: Esri India, the country’s leading Geographic Information System (GIS) solutions provider, hosted the Delhi edition of its flagship Esri India User Conference (UC) 2025, where the integration of GIS and AI took center stage. Themed “GIS – Integrating Everything, Everywhere,” the event spotlighted how GIS is transforming critical sectors by unifying data, domains, and geographies, while converging with digital twins and IoT.
Organizations from across India showcased real-world applications of GIS that are enhancing resilience and innovation in urban planning, disaster response, utilities, agriculture, infrastructure, land administration, water resources, and natural resource management. From predictive modeling and real-time monitoring to automated decision-making, the demos highlighted the expanding role of spatial intelligence in nation-building.
key focus was on GeoAI, AI assistants, and AI agents within the ArcGIS AI framework. These technologies demonstrated how geospatial intelligence, when combined with AI, is redefining decision-making across industries such as business, infrastructure, energy, and governance. The sessions featured technology tracks, paper presentations, and an interactive expo for cross-industry collaboration.
Agendra Kumar, Managing Director, Esri India, said:
