Speaking with Barkha Dutt in London, the Bollywood star reveals her struggle to overcome fear after the break-in and her firm stance against cosmetic enhancements
London, June 30, 2025: Bollywood icon Kareena Kapoor Khan shared candid insights into her personal and professional life during an emotional conversation with award-winning journalist Barkha Dutt at the UK edition of We The Women 2025, the celebrated women-centric festival.
Kareena addressed the lingering trauma from a recent break-in at her Mumbai residence, revealing the emotional toll it has taken on her family. “I am still struggling to cope with the whole break-in at home,” she admitted. “I haven’t come to terms yet with the fear, and it has been a tough journey to get over.”
The actress recounted moments with her sons, especially her younger child, Jeh, who told her, “My father is Iron Man and he can take over anyone.” Kareena reflected, “They have always been sheltered, but they have seen blood, they have seen everything, so it will make them stronger. As a parent, I make sure I don’t put my anxiety onto my kids. As a person, the break-in and the attack has shaken me to the core. We cannot live in that fear.”
On Natural Beauty and Well-Being
Kareena also weighed in on the beauty industry’s pressure, stating, “I am against botox. I believe in feeling great, natural therapies, self-preservation like taking holidays, and spending time with friends and family.”
The actress emphasized the importance of embracing one’s natural self and prioritizing mental well-being — a message that resonated with many at the festival, which brings together voices inspiring change, conversation, and empowerment.
The conversation with Barkha Dutt highlighted Kareena’s evolution not just as an actress but as a mother and advocate for conscious, balanced living, marking another memorable chapter at We The Women 2025.
