With this acquisition, S8UL becomes one of India’s first esports organizations to compete across 12 premier titles, setting its sights on global dominance.
Mumbai, 13 June 2025: S8UL Esports, a global powerhouse in competitive gaming and content creation, has officially forayed into League of Legends (LOL) by acquiring one of South Asia’s most successful rosters. This strategic move not only expands S8UL’s competitive footprint but also reinforces its mission to elevate Indian esports onto the global stage.
The newly acquired team comprises Akshaj Shenoy (Kat Bot), Aakash Shandilya (Infi), Ahmed Shahid (Nero), and Mihir Ranjan (Angelslotus) from India, along with Mehrab Uddin Ahmed (RTO) from Bangladesh and Tharuka Fernando (KratoZ) from Sri Lanka. The roster is widely regarded as a regional powerhouse, with players like Akshaj, Aakash, and Mihir having represented India at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, where esports debuted as a medal event.
S8UL’s League of Legends squad will next compete in Legends Ascend 2025, India’s first publisher-driven amateur LOL tournament organized by Riot Games. The tournament, offering a prize pool of ₹10 lakh, will culminate on 3 August 2025. The champion will secure a place in the LOL Championship Pacific (LCP) Wildcard Playoffs, opening doors to LCP’s promotion and relegation tournament.
Animesh Agarwal, aka 8Bit Thug, Co-founder and CEO of S8UL, commented:
“League of Legends is one of the most iconic esports titles globally. This is the right moment for S8UL to enter the fray and support a team that has already demonstrated excellence in the regional circuit. Our aim is to help them reach new heights and strengthen South Asia’s presence in global LOL esports.”
The roster’s impressive track record includes victories at Skyesports WD Black Cup 1 & 2, Pro League, SMG South Asia Cups 1, 2, and 3, as well as TEC’s July and August Opens under Temple of Kings in 2024. In 2025, they continued their success with four tournament wins under Asterisk.
Akshaj ‘Kat Bot’ Shenoy, team captain, expressed his excitement:
“Joining S8UL is a defining moment for us. We’ve worked hard over the years, and with S8UL’s backing, we’re ready to prove ourselves on bigger stages.”
With this move, S8UL now competes across 12 top-tier titles, including Apex Legends, Battlegrounds Mobile India, Call of Duty: Warzone, Chess, EAFC 25, Fatal Fury, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Pokémon UNITE, StarCraft II, Tekken 8, VALORANT, and now League of Legends. As the first and only Indian organization set to participate in the upcoming Esports World Cup in Riyadh, S8UL continues to set benchmarks for Indian esports on the global stage.
