Sebamed Tackles the Root Cause of Dandruff in Latest Humorous Yet Insightful Campaign

July 11, 2025 – Sebamed, the skincare and haircare brand known for its science-backed formulations, has launched a new campaign that raises a pointed yet relatable question: “Does your anti-dandruff shampoo really work?” Breaking away from the usual flake-focused messaging, Sebamed’s latest effort spotlights an often-overlooked symptom of dandruff—itchiness—and how it can interfere with daily life.

Through three humorous yet authentic films, the campaign portrays everyday situations—a romantic date, a high-stakes work meeting, and a tranquil yoga session—interrupted by the constant urge to scratch. The message is clear: visible flakes aren’t the only problem. Scalp itch is just as disruptive and deserves attention.

“At the heart of this campaign is the insight that itchy scalp moments are not just uncomfortable—they’re distracting and sometimes embarrassing,” said Philip Kuncheria, Senior Vice President & Business Head, Sebamed. “Our goal is to help consumers question whether their current solutions are truly working, while offering Sebamed as a dermatologically tested alternative that goes beyond cosmetic fixes.”

Sebamed’s Anti-Dandruff Shampoo features the brand’s signature pH 5.5 formula, designed to maintain the natural balance of the scalp, protect the microbiome, and offer long-term relief from both flakes and irritation. Unlike typical anti-dandruff ads that rely on dramatic visuals of flakes, Sebamed’s new campaign leans into real-life discomfort and uses humour to spotlight a more honest, relatable problem.

Sachin Kamble, Chief Creative Officer, Leo – South Asia, added, “We deliberately moved away from clichéd visuals and instead focused on the universal experience of itchiness. It’s awkward, it’s distracting, and it’s often ignored in advertising. This campaign brings that to light while staying grounded in Sebamed’s core promise of scientifically validated care.”

With this bold yet grounded campaign, Sebamed invites consumers to look past superficial results and demand more from their scalp care—starting with the question, “Does your shampoo really work?”
