Mumbai: Jigsaw Pictures presents Sisakti Rooh (Sobbing Soul), a thought-provoking 3-minute film inspired by Sahir Ludhianvi’s evocative nazm, as part of our initiative to raise awareness about violence against women.
This impactful short film is released on November 27 in observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women which was on November 25th, delivering a hard-hitting message against the brutality endured by women worldwide. We had release the poster and the teaser on November 25.
The brutal sexual assault on a lady doctor at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata recently shook the nation, sparking protests and debates. Yet, as headlines fade i.e. Nirbhaya Case, Hathras Case and many more, the heinous cycle of violence continues, victimizing countless daughters, sisters, mothers, and wives. Sisakti Rooh aims to serve as a lasting reminder of this grim reality and a call to action for humanity to respect and protect women.
“This film was born out of a need to create a message that would resonate deeply with both women and the men who respect them,” said Rajnish Lall, Founder and Producer of Jigsaw Pictures. “We collaborated with Abdulla Saleem, whose sensitivity and understanding of this subject made him the perfect director for this poignant project. We urge everyone to join this campaign by sharing the film on social media and sparking conversations about the importance of ending violence against women. Together, let’s amplify this message and inspire a generation to act against brutality.”
The film was produced entirely with the support of dedicated actors and technicians who volunteered their time, allowing all production costs to be donated to a women’s destitute home to support their well-being.
