Mumbai: The UEFA Champions League is set to enter a new era with the inaugural round of 16 under its revamped format. Sony Sports Network will also enter a new era with a fresh studio show, Champions Ki Charcha, featuring prominent names from the entertainment industry. The fun-filled show will witness Manas Singh presenting the show along with former India Centre Forward, Robin Singh.
This season marks a significant departure from the traditional group stage, as 36 teams competed in a single league phase, culminating in the top eight advancing directly to the knockout stage. The current scoreboard and matchups promise intense competition with top teams like Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich vying for supremacy. The round of 16 will feature exciting clashes, including Paris Saint-Germain vs. Liverpool, Club Brugge vs. Aston Villa, Real Madrid vs. Atlético Madrid, PSV Eindhoven vs. Arsenal, Benfica vs. Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund vs. Lille, Bayern Munich vs. Bayer Leverkusen, and Feyenoord vs. Inter Milan.
With an aim to enhance the viewing experience, Sony Sports Network has launched, Champions Ki Charcha, a UCL focused studio show, which debuted on March 4 at 10 PM on Sony Sports Ten 2, Sony Sports Ten 3, and Sony Sports Ten 4, as well as Sony LIV. Champions Ki Charcha will be an entertainment show before the game that keeps the viewers engaged through a variety of guests and cameos and discussions pertaining to football. The show will will have skits, debates and games that makes sure staying up late at night is worth it
This season’s top contenders include Liverpool, who finished first in the league phase, and Barcelona, who secured the second spot. Other notable teams like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, who navigated through the knockout phase playoffs, are also strong contenders for the title. The new format ensures that each match is crucial, with no room for complacency as teams battle for a spot in the quarterfinals.
