The announcement comes alongside the launch of the film’s official trailer.
The film created history earlier this year by becoming the first Indian fiction feature to win the Grand Jury Prize—the top honor—at the Sundance Film Festival. Its recognition at Sundance has positioned Sabar Bonda as a milestone in Indian independent cinema.
The project boasts an impressive lineup of executive producers, including Nagraj Manjule, Nikkhil Advani, Saie Tamhankar, and Vikramaditya Motwane, alongside international producers Neeraj Churi (UK), Mohamed Khaki (Canada), Kaushik Ray (UK), Naren Chandavarkar (India), Sidharth Meer (India), and Hareesh Reddypalli (India). The film is co-produced by Neha Kaul, with acclaimed actor Jim Sarbh joining as executive producer, and Rajesh Parwatkar and Ilana Girard serving as associate producers.
Internationally, Sabar Bonda has secured North American distribution with Strand Releasing, the renowned arthouse banner known for backing bold and visionary filmmakers. MPM Premium is overseeing global sales, ensuring the film reaches audiences worldwide.
With its powerful narrative, trailblazing success, and robust backing from industry veterans, Sabar Bonda is set to mark a significant chapter in the global journey of Marathi cinema.
