Biel, Switzerland – August 2025: Swatch, in collaboration with Omega, is set to release a cosmic new addition to its Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection—MISSION TO EARTHPHASE – MOONSHINE GOLD. Launching exclusively at selected Swatch stores on August 9, the day of the full moon, this striking timepiece reimagines celestial storytelling with a unique blend of space-age technology, nostalgic characters, and poetic design.
The highlight of the watch is Swatch’s innovative “Earthphase” complication, introduced last year as a poetic reverse to the moon phase. Representing how Earth appears when viewed from the Moon, the earth phase rotates counterclockwise to the moon phase, aligning with a 29.5-day cycle in reverse—an elegant reinterpretation of the retrograde function in haute horology.
The dial brings fantasy to life with an illustration of Snoopy and Woodstock on the Moon, gazing at Earth. A hidden message, visible only under UV light, pays tribute to the Moonwatch’s pioneering legacy and the dreamers who imagine beyond the ordinary.
At the 2 o’clock subdial sits the Moon phase indicator, featuring two radiant full moons rendered in the whimsical Snoopy style and coated in OMEGA’s Moonshine™ Gold. A nod to the Sturgeon Moon—the full moon on the day of release—one of the moons is playfully covered in a net-like design, echoing the name’s origins.
Crafted entirely from Swatch’s patented Bioceramic material, the 42mm case comes in a rich dark navy blue, symbolising the depth of space. The watch carries hallmarks of the legendary Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch, including an asymmetrical case and recessed subdials. Additional details include:
