Karnataka farmer wins brand-new Massey Ferguson tractor for breakthrough slurry dewatering machine
New Delhi, India | August 2025: TAFE – Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited, manufacturer of the iconic Massey Ferguson tractors, successfully concluded Season 2 of its Massey DYNASTAR Contest, recognising grassroots agricultural innovations across India.
The contest drew 16,000+ entries from 26 states and 5 UTs, with 12 finalists showcasing ideas ranging from renewable energy hubs to advanced transplanters.
Grand Winner: Avinash Desai, a Belgaum-based IT professional turned farmer, received a Massey Ferguson 254 DYNASMART 2WD tractor (worth ₹8.2 lakh) for his slurry dewatering machine concept.
Second Prize: Prateek Agarwal from Assam, for a solar-powered energy hub.
Third Prize: Amrit Jot Singh from Punjab, for a tractor-powered water purification unit.
Institutional Winners: Teams from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and Bannari Amman Institute of Technology for innovative transplanters.
The winners were evaluated by a Grand Jury on innovation, scalability, feasibility, and social impact.
TAFE announced that Season 3 of the contest will return in 2026, further scaling its mission to foster farmer-led innovation and empower rural changemakers.
