Mumbai: ABP LIVE, India’s leading digital news platform, concluded the grand celebration of the ABP LIVE Auto Awards 2025, held in Gurugram on April 25. Marking the third edition of one of India’s most credible automotive honours, the event brought together the finest minds and machines in the industry, recognising the standout two-wheelers and four-wheelers that have redefined innovation, design, performance, and sustainability.
This landmark edition of the awards honoured excellence across a wide range of categories, spotlighting cutting-edge electric vehicles, high-performance powerhouses, and smart mobility solutions that are shaping the future of the Indian automotive landscape.
Mahindra Thar Roxx drove away with three titles including Car of the Year 2025,SUV of the year and Off-roader of the year while Bajaj Freedom 125 claimed Bike of the Year 2025.
In the four-wheeler category, Volkswagen Taigun GT Line won Variant of the Year while MG Windsor BAAS took home the honour for Automotive Innovation of the Year. When it came to design, the striking Citroen Basalt was awarded Design of the Year while the Hyundai Creta, claimed Facelift of the Year for its refreshed styling and new-age tech enhancements. Additionally, Kia Carnival bagged Premium Family Car of the Year and Maruti Suzuki Desire won Sedan of the Year Award.
In performance-focused segments, Aston Martin Vantage sped away with the Supercar of the Year, and Skoda Kylaq stood out as the Sub-compact SUV of the Year. The prestigious Luxury Car of the Year was bagged by Mercedes-Benz E-Class, while its electric sibling, the Mercedes-Benz EQS, earned Luxury SUV of the Year, and BMW i5 claimed the Luxury EV of the Year. Jeep Wrangler was named Luxury Off-roader of the Year. Among emerging electric models, Tata Curvv EV won EV SUV of the Year, and MG Windsor was honoured as the overall EV of the Year. Vinfast VF7 received the Most Awaited New Car title, while Honda Amaze clinched the title of Value for Money Car of the Year.
On the two-wheeler front, the Suzuki GSX-8R was awarded Design of the Year, while Hero Xtreme 125R emerged as the Value for Money Bike of the Year, offering young riders sporty looks and strong features on a budget. BMW R 1300 GS roared ahead as the Off-roader of the Year, while Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono was recognised as the Premium Bike of the Year, lauded for its raw power and agility. TVS Jupiter 110, known for its everyday utility and performance, took home Scooter of the Year, and Ather Rizta bagged Green Two-Wheeler of the Year. In the premium EV segment, BMW CE-02 won accolades for its futuristic design and urban-friendly features.
The evening also celebrated automotive leadership. Santosh Iyer, MD & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, was named Business Leader of the Year. Meanwhile, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki, was honoured as Person of the Year.
Hyundai Motor India was declared Car Manufacturer of the Year, reinforcing its consistent performance across segments and innovation in mobility.
Lending their expertise to the evaluation process was a distinguished jury comprising some of the most respected voices in the auto industry. The panel included Somnath Chatterjee, Auto Editor at ABP Network; Achintya Mehrotra, a seasoned Rally Driver and Automotive Expert; and Jatin Chhibber, Automobile Journalist, Anchor & Producer, ABP Auto LIVE.
