GMR RPL’s inaugural season in Mumbai attracts 17+ major sponsors, signaling a new era for rugby in India
Mumbai, 20 June 2025: Rugby in India has received a significant boost with the launch of the GMR Rugby Premier League (GMR RPL), currently underway at the Shahaji Raje Bhosale Sports Complex (Andheri Sports Complex), Mumbai. Featuring six competitive franchises, the league will conclude with a grand final on 29 June 2025.
Season 1 of GMR RPL has garnered widespread support from leading global and Indian brands. GMR serves as the Title Sponsor, while HSBC, one of the world’s most respected financial institutions, joins as the Powered By partner.
