Multi-channel initiative aims to deepen travel interest with Ruby the Kangaroo and showcase Australia’s diverse experiences

Mumbai, August 20, 2025: Tourism Australia has launched the latest chapter of its award-winning Come and Say G’day campaign in India, featuring Sara Tendulkar alongside the brand’s global mascot, Ruby the Souvenir Kangaroo. Designed specifically for Indian audiences, the campaign celebrates Australia’s vibrant cities, pristine beaches, unique wildlife, and immersive travel experiences.

India continues to be one of Australia’s fastest-growing tourism markets, now ranking as its fifth-largest inbound market. Over the past year, more than 450,000 Indian visitors travelled to Australia, contributing AUD $2.7 billion in spending — a 14% increase compared to 2024.

The new campaign will run across multiple channels in India, including television, digital, social, and outdoor platforms. By blending storytelling with high visual appeal, the initiative seeks to inspire Indian travellers to explore both iconic destinations and hidden gems across Australia.

Industry Voices

Susan Coghill, Chief Marketing Officer, Tourism Australia, said: “India is a priority market for us, and the new Come and Say G’day campaign has been crafted to resonate with Indian travellers’ love for adventure, natural beauty, and cultural experiences. With Sara Tendulkar joining Ruby the Kangaroo, we are confident of building deeper connections with this audience.”

Nishant Kashikar, Country Manager – India & Gulf, Tourism Australia, added: “We are thrilled to unveil the next chapter of Come and Say G’day in India. The strong growth in arrivals and visitor spending from India highlights the immense potential of this market. Through this campaign, we want to inspire even more Indians to choose Australia as their preferred long-haul destination.”

Sara Tendulkar, who features in the campaign film, shared: “Australia is such a breathtaking destination, and I’m delighted to be part of a campaign that invites Indians to experience its magic. From its beaches and wildlife to the warmth of its people, there’s so much to discover.”

Launched globally in 2022, Come and Say G’day is Tourism Australia’s major brand platform designed to invite the world to explore Australia. The campaign blends cinematic storytelling with Australia’s natural wonders and lifestyle, anchored by the friendly mascot Ruby the Kangaroo.
