Quick commerce platform records exponential growth in festive essentials, with
Bengaluru and Mumbai leading the sweet rush

This year, sellers on Zepto witnessed a significant surge in festive shopping compared to last year across key categories:
Decorative Lights: 14.15x increase
Chunri: 13.61x increase
Betel Nut: 6.82x increase
Gulab Jamun: 6.65x increase
Rangoli & Rangoli Stencils: 3.79x increase
Sweet peaks & city showdowns
Festive fervor was especially visible in the sweets category, where consumer demand surged at peak hours:
Laddus recorded their highest demand between 10–11 AM, with Bengaluru selling 3.56x more than Mumbai in that window.
Modaks peaked at the same time, with Mumbai contributing 36.9% of all platform modak sales.
Pedas peaked at 11 AM, with Bengaluru outselling other cities by 2.11x, underscoring the city’s festive sweet preference.
Across festive essentials, regional trends highlighted unique cultural nuances:
Modaks: Bengaluru led early, before Mumbai surged ahead, selling 2.7x more than Hyderabad.
Ganesh Idols: Bengaluru topped sales, followed by Hyderabad and Mumbai.
Durva Grass: Mumbai emerged as the leader, selling 1.7x more than Hyderabad.
Modak Moulds: Bengaluru initially dominated, but Mumbai overtook towards the end, outselling both Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Laddus: Bengaluru outshone again, selling 2.3x more than Mumbai.
Pedas: Hyderabad led until August 24, after which Mumbai briefly surged, but Bengaluru closed as the overall leader with 2.2x higher sales than Mumbai.
