A nationwide creative movement to nurture emerging talent and redefine storytelling across TV, digital, and film platforms
Mumbai, July 15, 2025: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (‘Z’), one of India’s leading content and technology powerhouses, has announced the launch of Zee WRITERS ROOM, a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to identify, mentor, and elevate the next wave of screenwriting talent across the country.
More than just a talent hunt, Zee WRITERS ROOM is a creative movement aligned with Zee’s brand philosophy, “Yours Truly, Z”, with the mission of bringing fresh perspectives to storytelling. Selected writers will have the opportunity to craft content for Zee’s extensive TV, digital, and film platforms, shaping narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
Spearheaded by Zee’s central content and regional teams, the initiative was unveiled with a multi-language brand film championing the vision “Stories. Scripts. Screens.” The program aims to bridge the gap between untapped writing potential and the professional entertainment industry.

Siju Prabhakaran, Chief Cluster Officer – South & West, spoke about channeling the vibrant storytelling traditions of these regions into professionally structured content for TV, OTT, and films.
The Zee WRITERS ROOM is curated for writers who already have a creative spark—whether self-taught or formally trained—and may have showcased their talent in college festivals, writing clubs, or digital platforms but haven’t yet broken into the industry.
The program will induct 70 new writers and 30 emerging experts, grooming them into an idea-generation engine capable of creating fresh narratives, character arcs, and conceptual worlds for Zee’s platforms.
Selection Process:
Written Test: Registered participants attend a selection event and take a writing test.
Evaluation: A reading committee shortlists the top 10% based on writing merit.
Interview: Finalists are assessed by an expert industry panel.
Onboarding: The top 100 writers will join the Zee WRITERS ROOM, where they will develop story ideas under expert mentorship.
