Yadav was CMO Sequoia
Mumbai: Gayatri Vasudeva Yadav has been appointed as the Group Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice-President of Strategic Initiatives in the Chairman’s Office at Reliance Industries.
Announcing the appointment, Isha Ambani, Director on the Board of Reliance Industries and daughter of Chairman Mukesh Ambani, shared that Yadav joins the company from Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia India and SEA).
“In her new role as Group Chief Marketing Officer & EVP Strategic Initiatives, Chairman’s Office at Reliance, Gayatri will collaborate closely with our Chairman, Reliance Foundation Chairperson, Akash, Anant, the entire EC, and me to drive innovation, enhance brand impact, and deepen our customer-centric culture,” said Isha Ambani.
She added, “I am confident that Gayatri will bring fresh perspectives and dynamic leadership to inspire our teams and help propel us toward greater success and growth.”
Akash and Anant Ambani, Isha’s siblings, are also directors on the board of Reliance Industries.
Yadav joined Sequoia in 2020 as Chief Marketing Officer after a distinguished tenure at Star India, where she led marketing efforts and served as President, Consumer Strategy & Innovation. Based in Bangalore, she played a key role in launching Star Sports, Hotstar, and the impactful “Nayi Soch” brand initiative for Star Plus, focused on women’s empowerment.
She began her career in Brand Management at Procter & Gamble before moving to General Mills India, where, as Chief Marketing Officer, she was instrumental in launching the Pillsbury brand and developing multiple categories in India’s emerging packaged foods market.
