McDonald’s India surprises Siliguri couple with custom fries box after heartfelt reel goes viral, earning organic love and a priceless brand moment

National | June 25, 2025:A heartwarming reel from content creators @patnijipatikijodi turned a simple act of love into a nationwide brand moment for McDonald’s India—and it all started with a hand-drawn fries box.

In the viral video, a husband lovingly crafted a DIY McDonald’s fries box to surprise his wife. The charming gesture resonated across social media, prompting an outpouring of “awws” and heartfelt comments.

Seizing the opportunity, McDonald’s India recreated the exact design and delivered a complimentary meal in custom-made packaging—an exact replica of the husband’s artwork—to the couple’s home in Siliguri. The activation was conceptualized and executed by DDB Mudra.

> The response? A follow-up reel from the couple, proudly showcasing the personalized McDonald’s fries box, which quickly drew praise from users for the brand’s authentic and thoughtful gesture.

This wasn’t just clever content—it was emotional storytelling with brand impact, generating organic visibility and priceless sentiment. Without a single paid promotion, McDonald’s earned the kind of brand endorsement money can’t buy.

> “By turning a simple reel into a meaningful memory, McDonald’s reinforced its commitment to celebrating the small joys that bring people closer,” a spokesperson said.
