
Minister highlights women-led development, digital innovation, and retail sector growth; FICCI-Deloitte report projects $1.93 trillion retail market by 2030
New Delhi | August 20, 2025: Ms. Annpurna Devi, Minister of Women Development & Child Development, Government of India, emphasized that India’s vision has expanded from “Make in India” to “Make for the World” while addressing FICCI MASSMERIZE 2025. She highlighted government initiatives driving Viksit Bharat, noting that India’s UPI has become the world’s first real-time payment system adopted by 7 countries, with Next-Gen reforms aimed at boosting Ease of Living and Ease of Doing Business.
Stressing the importance of women and children as pillars of inclusive growth, she urged industry leaders to focus on empowering women, supporting Self-Help Groups, and extending CSR initiatives to rural India, making Corporate Social Responsibility a Collective Social Responsibility.
At the event, Kumar Venkatasubramanian, CEO & MD, P&G India, noted a 37% increase in the Union Budget 2025–26 allocation for women and child welfare, while Jyoti Vij, DG, FICCI, reiterated the federation’s commitment to women-led development.
A FICCI-Deloitte report titled “Spotting India’s PRIME Innovation Moment” was released, projecting India’s $1.06 trillion retail sector to reach $1.93 trillion by 2030. Key insights include:
