Former Deputy CEO returns to lead IKEA India’s retail expansion and One IKEA strategy

Bengaluru, July 22, 2025: IKEA India has announced the appointment of Patrik Antoni as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective August 2025. In his new role, Antoni will spearhead IKEA’s ambitious growth strategy in India, overseeing retail operations and driving unified collaboration across Ingka companies under the One IKEA India strategy.
With over 20 years of experience within the IKEA ecosystem, Antoni brings deep expertise across the company’s value chain. He has previously held several leadership roles globally, including a five-year tenure as Deputy CEO of IKEA India, where he played a pivotal role in launching the brand’s first store in Hyderabad. Most recently, he served as General Manager of IKEA Russia, leading Ingka operations in the region.
“I am honored and excited to return to India, a market that holds a special place in my heart and in my career,” said Patrik Antoni. “I look forward to building on the strong foundation laid by the team, while making IKEA even more accessible to the many people in India. India offers immense potential for sustainable growth, and I’m committed to advancing IKEA’s values and vision here.”
The leadership transition reflects IKEA’s renewed focus on accelerating its presence in India, one of its fastest-growing markets, fueled by the country’s rapid economic development and rising consumer demand for affordable home furnishings.
Patrik Antoni will work alongside the Country Retail Manager & CSO to ensure seamless leadership during the transition. Susanne Pulverer, who has held the dual role of Country Retail Manager & CSO, will be leaving IKEA after a remarkable 28-year career, including over eight years shaping IKEA’s India journey.
“I am very grateful for the incredible years at IKEA, filled with leadership learnings and unforgettable experiences in India,” said Pulverer. “It’s been a privilege to contribute to IKEA’s growth in this beautiful country. I’m now looking forward to a new chapter in my life.”
IKEA has initiated the process to appoint Pulverer’s successor, aiming for a smooth leadership transition as it continues to deepen its impact in India.
