
Panchayat Season 4 achieves franchise’s biggest opening; Indian Originals trend globally while international titles dominate Indian viewership

MUMBAI, July 22, 2025 – Prime Video’s content slate for Prime Day 2025 has set new benchmarks in global and national streaming engagement. Rolled out ahead of Prime Day (July 12–14), the mega line-up featured 17 highly anticipated Indian and international titles that reached audiences across 224 countries and territories, as well as over 4,400 Indian cities and towns.
The Prime Day programming included fan-favorite Indian Originals like Panchayat Season 4, The Traitors, and Uppu Kappurambu, alongside international blockbusters such as Heads of State starring Priyanka Chopra, Idris Elba, and John Cena. Viewers also tuned into popular Korean and Japanese titles like Good Boy, Head Over Heels, and City and the Animation, as well as American thrillers like Ballard, Dexter: Resurrections, and Deep Cover.
Indian Originals Go Global
Panchayat Season 4 emerged as the franchise’s most successful launch, streamed by audiences in more than 180 countries and 95% of India’s pin codes during its debut week. The new season also entered the Top 10 Trending list across 42 countries on release day. The Traitors, Prime Video’s biggest unscripted reality series, captured viewers across 88% of India’s pin codes, showcasing the strong domestic appetite for high-stakes entertainment.
The success has prompted Prime Video to greenlight The Traitors Season 2 and Panchayat Season 5, which is slated for release in 2026.
International Titles Gain Traction in India
Global titles resonated deeply with Indian viewers, aided by Prime Video’s extensive language accessibility through subtitles and dubbing. Heads of State topped the list of international favorites, followed closely by Korean and Japanese dramas that drew strong viewership nationwide.
