Featuring industry-first benefits like 10x Cumulative Bonus, Endless Sum Insured, and Gym & Sports Injury Cover, Health Alpha redefines flexibility and affordability in health insurance.
Mumbai, October 8, 2025: SBI General Insurance, one of India’s leading general insurance companies, has launched its flagship retail health insurance product — Health Alpha. Positioned as an industry-first initiative after the GST reform, the plan allows policyholders to design a personalized health cover with over 50 flexible options, reflecting the brand’s philosophy — “Your Health. Your Cover. Your Way.”
Health Alpha offers a wide range of sum insured options, starting from ₹5 lakh up to an unlimited sum insured, ensuring customers have access to robust health protection. Policyholders can also choose long-term plans of up to five years to mitigate medical inflation while availing of tenure-based discounts. The entry age starts at 18 years for adults (with no upper age limit) and from 91 days to 25 years for children.
Designed for diverse healthcare needs, Health Alpha introduces several industry-first and exclusive features:
10x Cumulative Bonus: Earn up to ten times the sum insured as a bonus for claim-free years.
Endless Sum Insured: Covers single hospitalization claims beyond the base insured amount, available once during the policy’s lifetime.
Unlimited Sum Insured: Ensures that claims of any amount are payable under policy terms.
Gym & Sports Injury Cover: Offers OPD coverage for injuries sustained during fitness or recreational sports, including diagnostics, medicines, and physical therapy.
Plan Ahead Benefit: Extends waiting period continuity to a new spouse or newborns (up to two children) when enrolled within 120 days of marriage or birth.
Welcome Discount: A 5% discount on policies purchased within five days of quote generation.
Health Alpha also includes essential covers such as pre- and post-hospitalization, daycare treatments, AYUSH therapies, critical illness, hospital daily cash, global cover, and personal accident benefits. All features are offered on an optional basis, giving customers the freedom to tailor their plans — adjusting coverage limits, sub-limits, and waiting periods.
Speaking about the launch, Mohd. Arif Khan, Deputy CEO of SBI General Insurance, said,
> “Health Alpha is not just another health plan; it redefines health coverage in India. With rising medical costs, our goal is to empower customers to design protection that fits their lifestyle and budget. This innovation reflects our commitment to affordability, accessibility, and a customer-first approach.”
With this launch, SBI General Insurance continues to strengthen its leadership in India’s retail health segment by setting new benchmarks in customization and customer-centric design.
