Goa Government accelerates digital nomad infrastructure with multi-utility coworking centres along the coast
Panaji, August 21, 2025: Strengthening its #WorkationGoa vision, the Government of Goa is developing new workation hubs at Morjim, Ashwem, and Colva to cater to the rising community of digital nomads and remote professionals. These hubs, designed as multi-convenience centres, will integrate coworking infrastructure with lifestyle amenities, encouraging professionals to live, work, and stay longer in Goa.
The initiative is being driven by the Goa Information Technology Development Corporation (GITDC) under a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) model, with each hub developed on a 20-year concession and an optional 10-year extension. The Morjim project is already in progress, Ashwem is nearing finalisation, and plans for Colva are underway with support from the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C).
Endorsed by Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, IT, Electronics & Communications Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, along with GITDC Managing Director Shri Kabir Shirgaonkar, the hubs will feature high-speed internet, ergonomic seating, collaborative zones, rest areas, and shower facilities — creating a unique blend of productivity and leisure.
Aligned with the Goa Startup Policy, the project offers incentives like lease rental reimbursements and infrastructure support, reinforcing Goa’s positioning as a future-ready destination where work meets lifestyle.
