Two Indian Shortlisted for inDrive’s Alternativa Film Awards & Festival 2024
Mumbai: The Alternativa Film Awards & Festival 2024 (AFAF 2024), a global non-profit film initiative founded by international technology company inDrive, has unveiled this year’s shortlisted films and juries during. Out of 25 shortlisted films – 13 full-length and 12 shorts – 2 Indian filmmakers were selected under the short film category.
Alternativa Film Project is designed to support and promote filmmakers and discover new voices from developing film industries, providing greater international visibility to filmmakers whose work is aimed to bring positive social impact to make the world a better place.
The Alternativa Film Awards received 680 eligible entries from 33 countries and 40 submissions were from India. The 2 Indian shortlisted films were Bird of a Different Feather by Manohara K and The Adamane Girl by Vinothraj PS.

His first feature, “Pebbles,” was remarkable, and this is his second feature. I feel truly honored to be a part of this project, where I play the character Mina. The film addresses a very important and serious issue in India, told through a unique and deeply compelling lens. All shortlisted titles will be presented to the public at the Alternativa Film Festival, which will run from November 22 to 28 in Yogyakarta. Festival guests will be able to attend free screenings and participate in impactful discussions, engaging audiences in dialogue about the nominated films and the significant social topics they address.
In addition to this, the Alternativa Film Awards will also be hosting its Industry Days event (27–29 November), a 3-day professional program designed to unite key players in the international impact arena. It will serve as a meeting point for the film industries of Southeast Asia and beyond, aiming to empower filmmakers and producers from the region through networking.
