Channel marks milestone with #MyDiscovery campaign, nostalgic programming, and renewed focus on future-forward content

National, August 20, 2025: As Discovery turns 40 globally and celebrates 30 years in India, the iconic brand is reflecting on its journey as more than just a television channel — evolving into a global storytelling powerhouse that has inspired generations with curiosity, knowledge, and adventure.

From its early days with shows like Discovery Atlas, Beyond 2000, MythBusters, and Man vs Wild, Discovery became a household name by blending education with entertainment, sparking curiosity across classrooms, living rooms, and cultural conversations. Over three decades, it has spotlighted India’s armed forces, environmental champions, women leaders, ancient archaeology, space mysteries, and gripping survival stories.

“For over three decades, Discovery has sparked imaginations, encouraged critical thinking, and created programming that left a mark in India,” said Arjun Nohwar, MD, Warner Bros. Discovery South Asia. “As we look ahead, our vision is to keep evolving with our audience, creating meaningful, relevant and future-forward content that continues to fuel India’s boundless curiosity.”

Sai Abishek, Head of Content, Warner Bros. Discovery South Asia, added: “For 30 years in India, Discovery has been a storyteller without boundaries — from tracking wild animals to chronicling history and exploring mythology. This anniversary isn’t just about looking back — it’s about continuing to surprise our viewers with extraordinary new worlds.”

#MyDiscovery: Nostalgia Meets Celebration

To commemorate the milestone, Discovery has launched the #MyDiscovery campaign, encouraging audiences to share how Discovery shaped their perspectives. On-air, the brand is airing a curated lineup of classics every Saturday and Sunday at 6 PM through August, including Destroyed in Seconds (2008), Extreme Machines (1997), Time Warp (2008), Discovery Atlas: India Revealed (2007), Junkyard Wars (1998), and Storm Chasers (2007).

Beyond television, Discovery extends the campaign to digital platforms with archival footage, milestone moments, and personal stories that highlight its enduring cultural impact.

Reinforcing its digital-first vision, Discovery continues to expand through Discovery+, making its rich library and new formats accessible anytime, anywhere.
