Global realignment sees W+K exit Mumbai, downsize Delhi operations
Mumbai: Independent creative agency Wieden+Kennedy (W+K) has announced it will be winding down its Mumbai operations and reducing its workforce in the Delhi office. The Delhi team will now consist of a small group of employees working with the agency’s global leadership to support critical shared services and global business operations. However, this will no longer include advertising services for the time being.
This news follows the recent departure of the agency’s India chief creative officer, Santosh Padhi (Paddy), and president, Ayesha Ghosh. The head of the Delhi office, Shreekant Srinivasan, has also resigned.
In a statement, W+K explained that it is aligning its global operations to better meet current client needs and future goals, and is choosing not to focus heavily on India at this time. Instead, the agency is scaling back and reassessing the role of the Indian market in its future plans.
